Stacking the Shelves & Sunday Post

Saturday, October 1, 2016

I am linking up again this weekend with Tynga at Tynga's Reviews for Stacking the Shelves and Kimberly at Caffeinated Book Reviewer for Sunday Post to share all of the books I picked up this week, and share my posts for the past week, and also share what's coming up soon!

Las week I said that I was going to try to hold off on requesting anything new for review because I am way behind on my reading, and guess what?!  I didn't request any!!  Yay, points for self control!  I did get approved for two books that I requested on NetGalley a while ago tho, so I listed those.

For Review:
Holiday with a Twist by Shannon Stacey

Freebies From Amazon:
Gretel by Christopher Coleman

From Giveaways:
Tales of the Peculiar by Ransom Riggs
An Indecent Proposal by Katee Robert

A Week In My Life:
So, last time we talked I was having trouble getting any reading done because I was having A TON of migraines.  Well, this week I didn't have that problem BUT my little one (she's 3 and a half) had a fever for 2 days and was absolutely miserable... so I didn't get as much reading done as I would like but I did get to read a little bit.  You know, after she went to sleep. lol!

In other news, I had 2 job interviews this week!  Both for the same job.  I met up with who would be my direct manager and then her bigger manager, so fingers crossed for me please!  We have been wanting to get our daughter into a daycare soon so she can get used to the whole idea before she goes into preschool next year.  It will be a pretty big change for our family if/when I go back to work, so I'm a little nervous.  Half of me REALLY wants to get back to my career, but the other part of me if scared and really hates change. haha!  We'll see how it goes...

On a completely unrelated note, October is my birth month (October 29th), so I thought it would be fun to host more giveaways on my blog this month (2 or 3 a week!!) so it's like a party for everyone! Woohoo!!  lol!

She's My Kind of Girl by Jennifer Dawson (Review)
Sparking the Fire by Kate Meader (Review)
Meant to Be by Jenna Harte (Excerpt, Interview, & Giveaway)

    1. Thanks so much! I haven't read An Indecent Proposal yet, but I'm really excited about it. It just came in the mail a day or two ago. I love Katee Robert. I didn't read the others in the series but will probably go back and read them after this one. lol!

Hope you have a great weekend too!

  4. Ooh you won Tales of the Peculiar! I saw it at Walmart but it was $20 so I put it back lol
I hope you're little girl is feeling better! Good luck on the day care search! There are some day cares that you can leave them for only half a day, just so the child can get used to being in that environment so that's good at least :)
Positive thoughts for you so that you get the job!

    1. haha I'm the same way! I hate spending a lot of money, even if it's on books. I usually buy ebook versions first and then if I really love them I buy a physical copy.

My little one is feeling much better, thank you so much! The day care search has been pretty frustrating. I probably called a dozen places on Friday and almost all of them told me they had a long wait list. Blahhh... We'll see, I guess. I love the idea of half a day just to see how she does. I'm super nervous about it.
Oh, and I GOT THE JOB!! Thanks so much for the postive thoughts, they must have helped! <3

    1. LOL I can't wait to start it! I've been wanting to try something a little different than my norm and hadn't read fantasy in a while. Yep, I grabbed Gretel for the same reason. I wanted something spooky for Halloween! lol Hope you have a good week too!

  10. Happy Birthday month! I love October. Best of luck with this new job - I hope you get it and love it. New jobs are always nerve-wracking, but I'm sure it will be great once you get into the groove and your daughter is used to daycare, etc.
