My Life Lately:
It's been a while since I've gotten to link up with everyone.  How is it December already?!  Time needs to slow down.  When I last posted I was just starting my new job, I think.  Well, unfortunately that didn't end up working out as well as I'd hoped.  I worked my last day Friday.  The job stressed me out so bad that I was a zombie by the time that I got home and that's not fair to my husband or daughter....or myself, really.  There were days that I left work and went home and cried, and on one occasion actually cried AT work because I was so stressed out.  No job is worth that.

BUT on a happier note,  When I was out shopping last weekend I was talking to a craft store owner and I mentioned that I was a painter.  After I showed her a couple of pictures of my work, she asked me to display/sell some of my art in her store!  One door closes and another one opens!  I'm excited and nervous but I think I'm going to give it a shot.  Who knows, right?!

Other than that I have been trying to get ready for the holidays.  I plan on decorating this weekend, but first I have to get my house cleaned up.  I got a bit behind on laundry...lol

  1. Goodness, I feel like I haven't been here in a while. I'm sorry! I literally did a happy squee when I saw you comment on my blog. :D

I remember you posting about the new job! I'm sorry it didn't go well, but no job is worth the stress. Hopefully something new will open up, and it will be a better fit.

I hope you enjoy all of your new books! Have a fantastic weekend, Julie. =)

    1. Awww, thanks so much!! I actually haven't been around much in the blogging world because I was working such long hours at that job, so I am really excited to start doing some catching up.

The job ended up being nothing like I thought it would be, which stinks. I liked the people I worked with but everything else about it was way too stressful. For now I'm just going to enjoy the holidays, catch up on reading and blogging, and paint some more.

Hope you are having a great weekend too!

  2. Any job that makes you feel like that is not worth it. I ended up staying in a job that was stressing me out and I had a total breakdown. I've never been able to go back to work because of that. So you did the right thing for you and your family because your health matters so much more! I hope things look up for you in the new year!

    1. Thank you so much. I really appreciate that <3 I'm sorry to hear you had a really bad experience too, but I'm glad it seems like you are doing better now and that you got yourself out of that situation. Stress is such a horrible thing! I have anxiety so tend to internalize a lot so it was really wearing me down. For now I think I am going to work on my paintings, read more, and have fun for the holidays. Hope you have a great week!

  3. So sorry about the job. I know how miserable that can be. My first year of teaching a coworker and I once cried before the day even started because we knew it would be awful. Glad you are in the position to be able to leave. So many people have to stay in miserable jobs because they can't afford to quit. That is the worst!
Hope you have a great week!

    1. Thanks so much! And yes, I am definitely lucky that I was actually able to quit. I've been a stay at home mom since my daughter was born so when I started working it was just for me, kind of. I wanted more social interaction and for my daughter to get used to being around more kids before she starts preschool/school. I'll figure out something better eventually. Hope you have a great week!

    1. Thank you so much! I'm really excited but I don't want to get my hopes up too high yet. lol. And yeah, the job was definitely not work all of the stress that came with it. I'll keep looking, who knows, maybe something better will come along.

Hope you have a great week too!

    1. Thanks so much! I feel like the stressful feelings (anxiety, tightness in my chest, etc.) took a couple days to finally start going away after I quit. I can finally feel like I can breathe now. Hopefully, I will find something better in the new year.

Hope you have a great week!

  8. How wonderful about the painting oppurtunity. I work for myself and the benefits and satsifaction make it wonderful. Good luck! Glad to see you linked up and checking in. Have a wonderful week!

    1. Thanks so much! I think I would be much happier working for myself, so it would be wonderful if I could get a little art business going. I'm nervous about figuring out how to claim my earnings on my taxes tho. I may have to buy one of those "For dummies.." books LOL!

Hope you have a great week!

  9. I've read a few Melissa Foster's books but I never really rate them higher than 3 or 3.5 stars so I decided to stop reading her books. I hope you like this one though.
It's good that you were able to say no to the job and to resign. Some people choose to stay and that's not good. And hey, good luck with your paintings! I'm sure you'll do great :)

    1. Thank you so much! I think for now I am going to keep the painting thing just for myself instead of doing commissions. I use my painting to help with my anxiety but when I start taking commissions it sort of has the opposite effect and I stress myself out trying to get it absolutely perfect.

I'm glad I didn't stay at that job. I was so miserable and I had only been there just over a month! Maybe I'll find something new in the New Year

I've only read 2 of Melissa Foster's books and enjoyed both of them. I've got a few more on my Kindle that I got a long time ago, so we'll see how those ones go.
