Life Lately:
I got way too carried away with review copies this week....SIX?!  I'm going to be very busy. lol!  I've been doing pretty good on my Reading Challenges so far tho.  I've read 2 books from my backlist(TBR list) and 2 new releases.  Woohoo!  I'm actually surprised I got that much accomplished.  My migraines have come back with a vengeance.  I'm not sure if I've mentioned it on here before but I suffer with chronic migraines, and it can be really awful.  I used to get them almost every day, but it's not been quite as bad lately...*knock on wood*

On a happy note, my husband and I are getting a rare date night!  We got a babysitter for the night and I'm not sure what we're even going to do but it will be nice to just have some me and him time.  Maybe we'll finally see Fantastic Beasts?!

  1. I was tempted to request traveler too but I need to increase my NG % before I start requesting ARCs again :) Looking forward to you review!
I hope you have fun with your husband. My review of Fantastic Beast [the movie] came up today. LOVE IT. I hope you love it too.

    1. I probably shouldn't have requested so many ARCs for review because I have also been struggling to get my NG % back up. It's fallen to around 75% now which isn't too great. My husband and I didn't end up getting to see Fantastic Beasts, but we did get to go out to a nice dinner instead. Hopefully we can see it soon!

  2. I'm glad I don't request ARCs...I'd never get time to read any of the books I buy and my tbr would have exploded by now! Good luck with your review books!

    1. haha Yeahhh...I definitely got a bit carried away with my ARCs this week. I made a goal to read 125 New Releases this year so the ARCs definitely help with that. lol. I can't complain too much about free books either...I'm just going to be very busy and hope that I still find time for other books on my TBR list

I was good at not getting any review copies this past week- I totally made up for it by buying a load of books, though :D

    1. Thanks so much! The migraine has gone away for now but I'm sure it will be back. So miserable. I've heard so many great things about Passenger and it was on sale for only .99 cents so I had to get it. lol

  5. Hi Julie. Migraines are horrible. I get them several times a week, as well. The only thing that works for me is Immetrix (a prescription), and taking it as soon as I know it starts. I hope you have a wonderful time with your husband on your date night. Have a great week.

    1. Yeah, the doctor gave me a prescription to take as soon as I start feeling it come on, but I'm only allowed to take it twice a week and I always have more than that in a week so it's frustrating. And it never seems to help them go away. It just makes me really spacey.

Hope you are having a great weekend!

  6. Passenger sounds pretty awesome. I've heard nothing but good things about it. I read The Walls Around Us a while ago and I remember not liking it much.

    1. Thanks so much! My husband and I ended up going out for a nice dinner and then going home to relax and binge watch Netflix. haha! It was really nice to just relax and be able to have uninterrupted conversation for once. lol! Love our daughter more than anything but she takes up almost all of our time. The migraines are pretty miserable. I wish there was a magical cure for them but unfortunately it doesn't seem that way. Hope you get to read Passenger too. I've heard so many great things about it

I'm not sure if you would be able to pick it up without the first one or not. I'll let ya know when I finish it!

  17. Awww, Julie, six is not bad! You're doing great! I have a mountain of review copies that I need to "get rid of" (i.e. read) in January, so I know what you mean. I hope you enjoy Traveler more than I did. I *might* request Fake Engagement! It all depends on, well, that mountain of review books. :D I hope you enjoy all of your new books, Julie!

    Have a lovely week. =)

    1. I think the problem with my 6 copies is that some of them are really close in their release dates, so that stresses me out. lol! I got really lucky with some of the other and they aren't for another month or so. Thanks so much! Hope you enjoy all of your new books too!

Hope you have a great week!

  18. Julie! Happy 2017 although I'm so sorry to hear you've been suffering with migraines again. :( That's awful and I hope they give you some reprieve.

Good luck with the review books. I'll probably only be able to start requesting again next month because I have a small pile to deal with myself 😕 But this is what we do!

Hope you have a wonderful week and I look forward to catching up again soon!

    1. Happy 2017! Yeah, my migraines have been really bad lately. Hopefully they calm back down for me soon.

I'm going to try not to request any this week so, I can try to catch up a bit. I think part of my problem is that I keep reading longer books lately so I have been falling behind on other books.

Hope you have a great week too!! <3

  19. Oh, you didn't do so bad with 5 ARCs. The release dates are probably spread out, right? *crosses fingers* And I need to read Passenger, too!! I'm going to have to break down and buy it one of these days.

Yay for date night! I can't remember the last one I had. But Booo on the migraines. I'm a diagnosed chronic migraine sufferer, too and for me, it's January that's the worst for some reason. I get my biggest, worst one in this month; the one that Imitrex and all the shots in the world won't touch. I'm soooo sorry yours have come back after being pain free... BOOOOO!!! HISS!!!!! Hang in there and I hope you feel better!! *topamax cheers*

    1. Some of the dates are spread out, but I didn't pay close enough attention so I ended up with a bunch lumped together. I will be pretty busy for the next couple of months...that's for sure. BUT on a happy note, it will definitely help my Reading Challenge numbers! haha!

Chronic migraine is the absolute worst. I feel like I can't enjoy myself because I'm always worried something will trigger my migraine (which it usually does). So frustrating! I wasn't completely pain free but they had backed off a little bit, but now they are back. I wish there was a real way to prevent them.

Hope you have a great week!
