Life Lately:
Not too much going on with me this week...  My daughter is sick AGAIN, so we went back to the doctor.  They are thinking it is maybe allergies.  So we are going to try Children's Claritin and we have to go for a blood test (EEEK!!).  Sooo we'll see how that goes.  I just want her to get better!  It's been off and on 3 months now!

Other than that, I'm just working on cleaning out the house.  We have way too much stuff so I'm going to try to get rid of some things because I feel like no matter how much I clean it gets cluttered way too easily.

I have been doing pretty good with not requesting as many ARCs.  The ARCs I listed above were actually requested the week before but they just approved them this week.  I'm also trying to avoid Amazon freebies and buying new ebooks.  I have 418 books on my Kindle right now...that's crazy!  So I am going to try to slow down with those too, until I start to catch up on my current backlist.

  1. I need to do a clearout as well...my kitchen is a disaster area and my bedroom still has book piles everywhere. It's really frustrating me and I need to start doing something about it! I hope your daughter's tests go well, fingers crossed. I've got a fair amount on the ereader as well but I feel I'm making progress on it at least!

    1. Ugghh Our bedroom is a complete disaster. lol! I've got book piles everywhere and wayyyy too much clothes, purses, shoes, etc. lol My husband and I are going to do some renovations on our house so I'm trying to get the house a little more organized before all of that happens in the spring. And thank you, I'm super nervous about her getting a blood test. I have a feeling she is going to flip.

    1. Thanks so much! I feel like I'm getting so behind with ARCs so I'm just trying to catch up. I would eventually like to get to the point where I have a couple weeks of posts written in advance so I wouldn't feel so stressed. lol! That's one of my goals this year

  3. Oh man, I'm sorry to hear that your daughter is sick! Hopefully it's nothing too serious.

I'm very curious about Not In My Wildest Dreams! And not just because of the cover, though that is definitely part of it. :D I hope you enjoy all of your new books!

Have a lovely weekend, Julie. =)

    1. haha yeah, the cover of Not In My Wildest Dreams made me take notice too. LOL! It does sound really good tho too.

And thank you! My daughter has had this cold for off and on 2 or 3 months and antibiotics didn't work so they want to see if it's an allergy causing all the symptoms instead. It's been frustrating. I hate seeing her so sick

Hope you are having a great weekend!

    1. Thanks so much! I hope they figure out soon what it is that is giving her problems. I hate seeing her so sick. I've done pretty well with cutting back on freebies lately. I'm going to try to keep it up, unless it's something I REALLY want. lol! I have no self control, I swear.

Hope you have a great week too!

  5. I cannot get myself to stop requesting books. They all look good and I have no willpower.
Hope they can sort out what is making your daughter sick! Good luck with the blood tests! Yikes!

    1. haha I am seriously the same way! It's an addiction! My husband laughs at me about it all the time. I have stacks of books all over our bedroom and around 430 books on my Kindle, but I still keep requesting more. lol!

Thanks so much! I really hope they can figure out what it is soon. I hate hearing her cough, it breaks my heart. She did so well for the blood test, I was surprised. She's a brave girl, I would have cried. lol

    1. Thanks so much! I really appreciate it. It makes me so sad to see her sick and hearing her cough. I've finally caught her cold now, i think. blah...

  8. My kids have allergies - some worse than others - so I get the sick thing. My son who has asthma had an especially rough go of it when he was younger and was always congested and had a cough for about half of the year, so I feel for you. I hope they figure it out and it gets better.

I still need to try a Melissa Foster book to see what I think. I only have a handful of contemporary romance books that have mature content that I read (like Susan Elizabeth Phillips and Kristan Higgins) so I need to see if I'd like to add her to my list. Thanks for stopping by!

    1. Ugghhh it's so frustrating! We got the blood test done so hopefully they figure out something soon. I hate seeing her so sick.

I really enjoy Melissa Foster's books. She does have a lot of steamy content in her romances, so I'm not sure how you would feel about it. If you do check her out, I hope you enjoy it!

  9. I've seen At Close Range and I've been so tempted to get it but I haven't seen many reviews for it so I've managed to not give in and request it. I hope it's good!
Do you guys have a/c in your house? Sometimes that would start up my allergies so I stopped using mine. Something that would work for me as a kid was Nasonex. You can ask the doctor for that one to learn more about it. It would work wonders! I hope your daughter gets better!

    1. I am going to be starting At Close Range soon. I haven't read anything by that author so, we'll see how it goes. It sounds really good tho! We do have a/c and forced air heat, so I have thought about calling a heating person to come clean out the vents to see if that is part of the problem. And thanks so much!

  10. Oh Julie - sorry to hear about the blood test coming up! Little ones just shouldn't get sick. 😢 I hope it isn't too horrible for you both and I hope that you sort out the root of the problem.

Well done with requesting less and managing your book intake! I'm trying my best to keep my incoming books down as well - I need to tackle the ones I have and my mile long TBR! I have a plan of action, just to get to it now 😉

Hope you have a lovely week!

    1. Thank you! Our daughter actually ended up doing so well with the blood test. She didn't cry or anything. I was impressed...I would have cried. lol! I'm a sissy when it comes to needles.

I've been doing pretty good with not requesting too much, but it's so hard! lol There are so many great sounding books out there!

Hope you have a great week too!
