Top Ten Fairy Tale retellings that I want to read

Tuesday, January 24, 2017

I am linking up today at The Broke and the Bookish's link up "Top Ten Tuesday".  They have a different topic every week and it's a lot of fun to meet some new bloggers and find a bunch of new books to add to my list!  This week's topic is: That Super Specific List You Want To Make, so I decided to go with: Top Ten Fairy Tale retellings that I want to read.

I probably could have had a million books on this list but I decided to add the first ones that came to mind.  I didn't add any from The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer to this list because I am in the process of reading them right now.

If you have a fairy tale retelling that you loved and it isn't on my list please let me know in the comments!  I love fairy tales retellings and I'm always looking for another great one!

  1. I can't add to your list I'm afraid as I don't read retellings! I do recognise some of the books and authors though!

  5. Oh oh oh! I highly recommend The Wrath & The Dawn (and its sequel), The Forbidden Wish, The Shadow Queen, Vassa in the Night, Heartless. Prioritize the first two! Other YA retellings that are great - The Wish Granter (retelling of Rumpelstiltskin) and A Thousand Nights (1,001 Arabian Nights). :D Great post, Julie!

    Have a wonderful week. =)

  7. I hope you get a chance to read all these! The only one I’ve read is The Wrath & The Dawn. I didn’t love it as much as everyone else seems to.

    1. Thanks so much! Aww, sorry to hear that you didn't love it as much as you had hoped. That's always a letdown. There have been a few books that so many people loved and I didn't like it at all. lol

    1. I only own 2 from my list so far, but I'm hoping to get more. I have Heartless and A Court of Thorns and Roses. So many books, too little time. Right?! lol! I have the same problem.

  10. This is an awesome list! I have all of these to read as well. The sad thing is that I think I have all of them but maybe one or two. One of my goals this year is to get to these and do better this year with not missing so many books. Thanks for stopping by!
