I am linking up today at The Broke and the Bookish's link up "Top Ten Tuesday".  They have a different topic every week and it's a lot of fun to meet some new bloggers and find a bunch of new books to add to my list!  This week's topic is: Favorite Romance Tropes

Friends - to - Lovers
Him by Sarina Bowen

Enemies-to-lovers

Second Chance Romance

What are some of your favorite kinds of romances?  Have you read any of these?  Any book recommendations for me?

  6. Oooh, I really love this topic. Some of my favorite romantic tropes are on here -- but especiiiiially enemies to lovers. It is so so well done. I think it's because Daughter of Smoke and Bone was one of my first FAVORITE ya novels? I dunno but now when I get to read that trope, I am instantly on board that ship.

Scarlet x Wolf and Darcy x Elizabeth such great picks. I guess I need to finally get around to reading Carry On! I also feel the need to reread Fangirl... (KANYE DANCE PARTY TIME!)

    Excellent and fun TTT!

    1. I haven't gotten a chance to read Daughter of Smoke and Bone, but I will definitely have to check it out because I'm a big fan of love/hate romances.

Carry On is soooo good! I hope you get a chance to read it soon. I've been wanting to reread it so bad.

    1. I haven't gotten to Winter yet but everyone has told me that it's the best one. I've only read Cinder and Scarlet so far. I own both Cress and Winter but haven't found the time yet. Hopefully soon!

  8. Pride and Prejudice is a classic, of course. Love that as a story (despite not having read the book). Someday I *must* read Marissa's books too. They sound so good. :)

    1. I love the book (P&P) just as much as the movies. I know everyone always says the books are better but I really loved the way they did the movies too. I've only read Cinder and Scarlet from Marissa Meyer so far but I'm hoping to read Cress and Winter soon.

    1. I'm a big sucker for friends-to-lovers...maybe it's because that's the way things happened with my husband and I. lol! Fangirl is sooo good! I love Rainbow Rowell's books.

  11. FRIENDS TO LOVERS ARE THE BEST! I strongly believe that if you want to have a meaningful relationship, you need to get along with your SO as a friend first. I love hate to love ones as well, but only the really well done ones!

    GREAT POST!

  15. I like friends to lovers, but enemies to lovers can be fun too when it's done well. Starflight is what immediately comes to mind for me of a great enemies to lovers book! And I have Carry On and plan to read it this year :-)

  16. I love these tropes too!! My favorite Friends to lovers is Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare. Anti-stepbrother by Tijan is another great one! Sweet Haven by KC Lynn (one of my fav authors) is a great enemy to lover story. Where I belong is a great example of enemies to lovers but I was so furious at the hero I didn't really want them to get together! Great list!

    1. I will definitely have to add Lady Midnight to my list! Thanks for the rec! I have read a couple enemies to lovers stories where they just didn't end up clicking right for me, but when done right the chemistry is explosive.

  17. I love enemies-to-lovers stories and thought Carry On was a fantastic example of that! I'm also a big fan of the love triangle trope, although I suspect I'm in the minority there. :-P
