Saturday, February 25, 2017

I am linking up again this weekend with Tynga at Tynga's Reviews for Stacking the Shelves and Kimberly at Caffeinated Book Reviewer for Sunday Post to share all of the books I picked up lately, share my posts for the past week, and also share what's coming up soon!

From Giveaways:
Box of 14 Books!
(from The Readers Den. Thank You!)

(from Heart on Fire Reviews. Thank You!)
Life Lately:
I feel like I'm stuck in a bit of a book slump lately.  The last few books that I've read lately were ones that I thought were going to be great and they disappointed me.  So frustrating!  Fingers crossed my next read is better! On a happy note (book wise) I won some awesome giveaways this past week!  I normally have no luck at all but I guess I did this week.  Thank you so much to The Readers Den and Heart on Fire Reviews.

I decided that I'm going to try to get back in shape a bit too.  I ordered a bike/elliptical and I'm really excited to start using it... I just have to figure out how to put it together. lol!  I think I'm going to get my husband to help me, he's better with that kind of stuff.

Watching:
I'm just finished watching the season finale for The Blacklist, and now I'm not sure what I want to watch until it comes back!  I'm feeling the need to binge watch something on Netflix.  Does anyone have any suggestions?? I've watched: Stranger Things, Friends, How I Met Your Mother, Daredevil, American Horror Story, White Collar....  So I'm open to pretty much anything!

  1. I'm in the middle of some pretty poor apocalypse reads which has been dragging my mood down further. Info dumps, poor characters and political lectures are spoiling these recent books and I just want to read a decent one!

  2. Yay on all those wins!!! Sorry about the slump though - that stinks. TV wise you could try Friday Night Lights or Parenthood. Love both of those!! Have a great week!

    1. Thanks, I will definitely check those out! I'm kind of bummed about the books I read lately. I thought for sure that my last read was going to be a winner because I love the author but it was just "okay". Ugghh....Hopefully I can get it turned around soon!

Hope you have a great week too!

  3. WOW. Let me just say that again... WOW. So many books! The first half of your haul has so many cute covers! And then your giveaway haul - congratulations! Jasprit/Rachel are so nice. You've got a lot of reading ahead of you!

Try rereading some of your favorites, to get out of your reading slump! Or set some mini goals for the week and see how they work out. You can do!

Have a lovely weekend, Julie. =)

    1. haha! I know, I am going to be BUSY for quite a while. lol! I'm trying to catch up on some of my ARCs before the box gets here. haha!

And that is a great idea! I've really been wanted to reread Carry On by Rainbow Rowell but kept telling myself to read all the new books first. I bet that would pull me out of my funk tho. Thanks for the idea!

Hope you have a great weekend too, Alyssa!

  4. Gah, I am totally feeling you. I've been in a book slump myself lately and I hate posting negative reviews especially more than one in a row. I hope all the new pretties that you got will help you get out of that funk!

    1. Uggh, it's frustrating, isn't it?! I feel like I have post anything above a 3.5 in a while now and that bums me out. I had a really good start of the year with books so I knew the slump was going to catch up with me eventually. lol! Hope you manage to pull yourself from the funk soon!

Hope you have a great week!

  5. Great book haul! Especially all those books you won. I love that! I have hit a book rut. Everything just feels kind of 'meh' to me. Nothing is feeling new and fresh. Sigh...

    1. Book ruts are the worst! They just take away all of my motivation. Alyssa from The Eater of Books recommended that I read a book that I already read and loved to help pull me out of it, so I'm going to give that a try.

  6. Look at all those books you got from giveaways! That's a regular book haul! I've been meaning to read The Rest of Us Just Live Here for about forever. I really must get to it soon. If you've watched Daredevil, I'd definitely suggest Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. Happy reading!

  7. I have Summer Stock to read too - I love Vanessa North. I didn't really love Shelton in Love, but I'd be curious to see what you thought! I'd recommend Santa Clarita Diet on Netflix. It's only the one season and it goes quick, but I loved it!

  8. I totally understand on being book slumps. But the good news is is that you can get over it pretty quick with one good book. :)

    1. Yeah, I took a friends suggestion and reread a book that I already loved so I'm hoping that helps! I just finished another book today and it was pretty good too, so hopefully I'm over it now. lol!

I LOVE ellipticals! My college had a free gym and I used their ellipticals all the time. I'm excited to have one at home now. I figure I can set it up in front of the TV and catch up on some shows while I work out.

Hope you have a great week too!
