Life Lately:
As you can see, I went a bit overboard with books again this week.  Oops!  I ended up with a chunk of them being release around the same day too.  Double oops!  So I'm just going to try to get some of them read early so I'm not stressing about it around that time.  I'm super excited about a lot of these too!  I mentioned last week that I was stuck in a bit of a book slump, but I am happy to say that I think I am out of it now.  I took a suggestion for another blogger and reread a book that I loved the first time around.  Worked like a charm, so thank you!!

I've also been exercising!  Not as much as I should be, but I'm hoping to get better about it.  I LOVE my new bike/elliptical.  I've only really used it as an elliptical so far, but it's great!  I didn't realize how out of shape I was.  Hopefully I can whip my butt into shape before summer because I really want to get some hiking and rockclimbing in!

My daughter has been going through a fun phase where she wants to push mommy's buttons all day long....and then act like I'm a crazy person and the meanest mom ever when I yell at her or put her in a time out.  Siiiggghhh.....  She's only 4.  Can't wait until the teenage years (sooo much sarcasm).  Most of the time she is really good.  This is just a weird phase and it'll pass (said with my fingers crossed!!)

  1. Rereading a favourite is a good way to get out the slump! I was worried that I was going into a slump myself but changing my book theme at the start of this month seems to have got me back on track. Yea! It's weird to talk of zombie books as comfort reads but they kind of are to me! Erk I'm so glad I don't have kids! I would not have the patience to deal with all that!

    1. Hey, nothing wrong with zombie reads! haha! I haven't reads too many zombie books but zombie movies are some of my favorites. I only have one little one and she can definitely be a handful, but the good things far outweigh the bad most of the time. Momming definitely isn't easy. That's for sure. haha!

  3. Check you out, with all of the fancy books! Do you ever feel like they all come at once, which makes it looks like you overloaded in one week? As long as their pub dates are at least a little spread out, you're good. :D

I'm SO glad rereading a favorite got you out of your reading slump! YAY! Hopefully you read lots of great titles in the coming week.

Have a lovely weekend, Julie. =)

    1. I got so many good books this past week! I'm so excited to start reading them all. I'm definitely going to be busy for a while. I was just telling my husband that I swear they all show up at one time. I have quite a few that are due around the same time so I have to start them soon so they get done on time. lol!

I will have to remember the rereading trick for next time I'm in a slump. It worked so well!

Hope you have a great weekend too!

  4. Oh man this is a haul to be jealous of! I have been trying to get approved for Geekerella with no luck. I hope you like it and review that one soon!

Given to the Sea sounds intense! Her other books are always creative and dark so I am sure this one will be too.

Rereading an old favorite is my surefire way to bust a reading slump. So happy it works for others too. Slumps are the worst,

Hope your next week is full of more fun with your daughter and good books!

    1. Thanks so much! I am so excited about my haul this week! They are all ones that I REALLY wanted. lol! I waited quite a while before I got approved for Geekerella so maybe you'll still get it! It's sounds super cute!

I'm not going to lie, the cover for Given to the Sea is why I really wanted to try this one out. lol! That's horrible but it's true! It's sounds like it may be interesting so we'll see.

I am definitely going to remember the rereading trick next time I'm in a slump. Worked like a charm!

Hope you have a great week too!

  5. Go you for starting to exercise! I wish I had the motivation to exercise. My problem is I love food so much and love exercise so little 😂! There are some great books here though! I've heard a few things about at first blush so I can't wait to see what you think 💖

    1. I don't know why but I really enjoy elliptical. I seem to get bored with every other type of exercise. lol! I tried different videos but I never stuck with them long. My elliptical is lightweight so I can roll it out in front of the tv and binge watch some Netflix. lol!

Happy to hear that you heard good things about At First Blush. The cover is adorable and it sound really good. I'm excited about so many of these ones!

Hope you have a great week!

  6. So many good books this week! I tried an elliptical at the gym once....it almost killed me. I had a treadmill but got rid of it because we really don't have the space for it. I do take the dogs for a walk every day so at least that is something. Kids are fun aren't they? I miss when my kids were little but not when they were in one of those fun stages. It will pass.

    1. Walking the dog definitely counts! We don't have any pets right now but we really want to get a cat and a dog when our daughter gets a little older...and we get a bigger house/yard. lol! And thanks, Momming has it's tough moments. It seems like she stays in a phase long enough to drive me crazy and then goes back to "normal"..or goes into another phase entirely. lol! It's always something. She's been REALLY good the past couple days so hopefully she's out of the funk.

  7. Hi Julie! I have started working out too ... running plus little hand weights and a kettleball and boring sit ups and stuff. At first, I was just running, but I wasn't really firming up and looking any better...so we will see if this helps. Too early to tell...

    1. Hi Libby! That's so great! Good for you! I just started working out again so I don't expect to see any results for a while but once I get back in shape a bit more I have ankle weights and wrist weights to add too. I don't want to lose weight, I just want to tone up a bit. Good luck! I hope it works out for you!

  10. Yay for loving you new exercise tools! Thats awesome. Great book haul too! I always request books without looking at the release date then end up with a slew of them on the same day. I still never learn though!

    1. Yeah, I normally try to be careful about requesting too many that are released around the same day but I failed this time around. lol! Sometimes NetGalley takes a while to approve a request so I forget (or assume I'm not going to be approved) and request another book due around the same time.

  11. I kinda loaded up on books too in the last week or so. Glad the book slump is over. :) I had a book that was dragging and I had to get through it, because the next book I couldn't WAIT to start lol.

Love the covers of geekerella and Given to the Sea, and The Thing about Love too.

    1. So crazy how the little one go through phases like that. The past two days, my daughter has done a 180 and is super lovey dovey, and saying sweet things. lol!

I'm trying my best to catch up on my reads and not stress too much about it. I read a lot of my other ones in advance so I have that going for me, I guess. lol. I am definitely going to have to use that reread idea again for my next slump. It worked so well
