My Art: The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks

Friday, April 21, 2017

This time I decided to share one of my favorite paintings I've done so far: The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks.  This is my favorite scene in the whole movie/book.  I used a different technique to paint this one but loved the way it turned out.  The first painting is done using acrylic paint and the second painting is a quick watercolor painting.

Sorry, for the not so great picture quality in this second one.  I probably should have retook the picture.  I planned on turning this one into an acrylic painting but it never happened....maybe one day.

I was thinking about showing you some of my comic character portraits next.  I've painted Wolverine, Iron Man, Groot & Rocket, Catwoman, and Black Widow.  I've also done a painting of Nancy Callahan from Sin City if anyone knows of that one.  lol

Which one would you like to see next??

Should I do a roundup of them all or a couple at a time?

    1. Thanks so much! It's my favorite scene too. My husband's friend bought it for his wife, but I've been thinking about getting it printed on either a tote or pillow for myself. lol!

    1. Thank you so much, Di!! You are the sweetest!! I have tried a few animals. I've painted/drawn cats and owls, but not much more than that. I want to paint more of them in the future.

I'm glad you liked the progress photos. I think it's fun to see them so I thought everyone else might enjoy them too.

haha! I think I will try to spread them out a little bit. That gives me more time to create something new.

  12. I love the first one-it reminds me of a filter in Adobe. I have thought of trying to paint one of the filter renderings from my photo, but it looks too hard for me! Great job.

    1. Thanks so much! That's sort of how I came up with this one. I took a photo into Photoshop and manipulated it a bit and sketched it from that...then painted it. =) Thanks so much!
