Stacking the Shelves & Sunday Post

Saturday, April 8, 2017

I am linking up again this weekend with Tynga at Tynga's Reviews for Stacking the Shelves and Kimberly at Caffeinated Book Reviewer for Sunday Post to share all of the books I picked up lately, share my posts for the past week, and also share what's coming up soon!

From Giveaway:
(Thank you so much Carole! from Carole's Random Life!!)

Life Lately:
As you can see I went a bit book crazy this past week.  I have been trying to cut back on requests so I could catch up and focus on more of my backlist, but this week I got a bit click happy. LOL!  Two of the books that I bought (The Husband's Secret and Stalking Jack the Ripper) were actually found at a thrift shop for $1 each!  The other book that I bought was an ebook...it wasn't on sale or anything but I have heard so many great things about it that I couldn't help myself!

For some reason,  my Bloglovin feed has been down all week, so I've had a hard time keeping up with other blogs.  That is the #1 way that I follow other blogs, but I tried to stop by a few. I'm sure I missed a lot tho.  I'm not sure what's going on with my Bloglovin but I hope it gets worked out soon!

I guess the "good" news about Bloglovin being down is that it gave me a lot of time to read. lol!  I also got a lot of posts written.  I think I have 16 posts scheduled!  That's probably a record for me.

In other good news, my daughter is back to being 100% better.  Yayy!  But unfortunately, I'm still getting my butt kicked with migraines.  So miserable!  I blame this crazy weather.  Every time it changes drastically, I get a migraine.  We we were having mid 70s weather and then this morning it snowed.  Craziness!

  1. We've been having crazy weather here, too! It's hot, it's cold, it's raining - just pick one already, preferably warm and sunny! I get headaches a lot too when the weather changes. I hope you feel better soon!

    1. Exactly!! It's driving my sinus' crazy, and it always gives me bad migraines when the weather changes like that. It snowed yesterday and they are calling for a sunny 80 degree day on Monday! Thanks, Angela!

  2. The weather doesn't seem to know what it's doing here either...it's weird! Bloglovin is my way of keeping up to date on everything and sometimes it goes strange and unfollows someone or doesn't show all the posts from someone I follow. I get frustrated with it but it seems to be mostly working so I hope yours is sorted soon.

    1. Yeah, I was really lost without Bloglovin this week. I feel like such an idiot. I told my husband about the problem I was having and he loaded up the site, hit the F5 button and it started working. He says it something with the cookies. I'm so computer illiterate sometimes...it's good to be married to an IT guy. lol! So I'm going to be spending the day playing catch up most likely.

  3. So many good books! Song of the Current sounds so good. I'm excited to read it. I'm SO happy to see Simon! I hope you love it. I hope you can kick the migraines soon. Everyone in my house has been sick for 2 weeks. I'm so done with it!

    1. Song of the Current sounds so different so I'm excited about it. Everyone has been raving over Simon and I've been dying to read it but I was trying to wait for a sale...I couldn't handle waiting anymore. lol! My friend and her 3 kids all got sick this week. It seems like it's everywhere right now. Thanks, Lori! Hope you have a great weekend!

I need to get my hands on Simon .... as well. I have read The Upside of Unrequited, and I loved it! It's my favorite 2017 read!

Have a wonderful weekend and happy reading.

Glad your child is feeling better, but yuck on the migraines. I get them, but fortunately not often.

Nice haul! I got the Witt and Alpert too. I want to eventually get Simon Vs... too.

First time it happened my husband thought I was having a stroke and rushed me to the hospital. I also get ocular migraines, and lose my vision for up to 45 minutes at a time. So scary.

I haven't read anything from Liane Moriarty yet so I'm super excited about this find.

lol! I wish these migraines would go away for good! It's so frustrating living with chronic migraine. I had a 3 day migraine at the end of the week, and the same the week before. I could use a week free of them so I can enjoy the nice weather we are supposed to have coming.

I just finished Back Piece, and I enjoyed it but didn't love it as much as I hoped. The steamy scenes were done really well, but I wanted a little more out of the characters. It's nice seeing more m/m reviewing authors out there!

I'm really excited about Stalking Jack the Ripper. I actually didn't realize it was part of a series until another person let me know. haha! Now I'm debating on holding onto it until the next one comes out so I can read them right after another.

That sucks about Bloglovin-- I always think they're pulling a Facebook on me and only showing me what they *think* I want to see. Maybe I'm crazy?? I hope it works itself out soon-- Maybe you could switch over to Feedly if not?? I heard a lot of bloggers used to use that.
