Life Lately:
My husband and I got to go see Guardian's of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and we really enjoyed it.  I thought the first one was maybe a little better, but I still liked it a lot.  We had plans to have a whole date day together but I ended up getting an ocular migraine (lost most of my vision) and we had to keep our date day short.  I was really disappointed.  These migraines really get me down sometimes, especially when they effect my quality of life so much.

I may have went a little overboard on the freebies this week BUT I didn't spend any money, so that's good, right? lol!  I just can't say no to books.

We are are celebrating Mother's Day today because tomorrow we are meeting up with my mom at Pizza Hut for lunch to celebrate it for her.  My husband wanted me to have my own day that was about me, I guess. lol!  He's taking me out to eat at the Cheesecake Factory and then we are going out for some shopping, to have some fun in the park, and then come home to play some games and watch a movie.  It's a pretty perfect day for me.  I hope all of you mom's out there have a great Mother's Day weekend!

    1. I wouldn't even wish migraines on my worst enemy. It's horrible...especially because I have them so often. I did end up with a great book haul this week tho, so that make me happy. Thanks Nikki!

  2. What a shame that your date day was cut short when you were looking forward to it. I hope that today works out much better for you. Any place called The Cheesecake Factory sounds great to me...I haven't seen the first Guardians of the Galaxy film yet and I've heard mixed reviews about the second one. To be honest I don't pay much attention to what the critics say! If I want to see something, I'll watch it! Have a great weekend!

    1. Thank you. The migraines are really frustrating, especially when I try to plan something or I'm really looking forward to something and then it's ruined. I wish there was a magical cure. lol. And YES, The Cheesecake Factory is amazing! It's my favorite restaurant. They have great food and a HUGE selection of different kinds of cheesecake. I usually see movies that I'm excited about even if people say they weren't so great too. I figure I'll always wonder about it if I don't. lol. Hope you have a great weekend too!

  4. Those migraines sound awful. Losing your vision does not sound like fun at all. I'm sorry you had to keep your date short because of that. Your Mother's Day plans sound like a lot of fun though. I hope you'll have a good time with your family! I hope you enjoy all your books this week and have a wonderful weekend! :)

  5. Have a wonderful mother's day!!! I requested that LP Dover book on Friday. I am hoping they approve me on Monday :)
An ocular migraine has to be terrifying! I'm glad you weren't anywhere alone when it happened.
    Yay for lots of freebie!!
    Have a great week!

    1. Thank you so much, Samantha! I hope you are able to get a copy of the L.P. Dover book too! It sounds so good!

And yes, the ocular migraines are really scary. Thank goodness I haven't been unlucky enough to get one while I was alone in public. That's one of my big fears. There's been a few times when I was home by myself when they hit so I just sit somewhere until it comes back. I've had a few where I was out with someone when it happened so they were able to help me. So scary and frustrating.

Thank you, I hope you have a great week too!

  7. Oooo, I saw Blocked and I'm curious about it! It sounds like my kind of think.

Aww man, I'm so sorry to hear about your health, Julie! I hope there is some sort of medication or procedure for the migraines? *hugs*

Happy Mother's Day! Have a wonderful weekend. =)

    1. Blocked does sound really good. I'm excited to start that one.

Thanks, Alyssa! Unfortunately, there is no medication or procedure that cures migraines. I've tried a bunch different things for prevention but they only work so well. It's not as bad as it used to be but it's still really frustrating and gets me down sometimes.

Thanks for the hugs, I really appreciate it! <3 Hope you have a great week too!

    1. haha yeah, the migraines definitely get in the way of my reading way more often than I would like. I've thought about trying audible for that reason, actually. I still haven't tried it but it sounds like something that might work for me.

  10. I thought the same thing about Guardians of galaxy but in the first movie they had to introduce them so show a lot but in this one they explore more about the father. It was great still. I see some good books in the Amazon Freebie, will have to check them out.

  15. Nice grabs for Kindle freebies!

And no books bought? IMPRESSIVE. I am in awe of your self control, lol.

My husband and I also went to see GotG 2! I agree - I think I prefer the first (more of a plot, funnier) but I was v entertained by the second.

I also get ocular migraines and I feel you. Hiding in the dark is pretty much the only way I can cope until they fade. Hope they stop happening to you soon!

Aww -- how sweet that you and your mom get to have a day. That's a smart idea of your husband -- sounds like you've got a good one.

Oooh,I can't wait to see your Black Widow art!!

Uggghh, aren't migraines the worst?!?! I hate it.

My husband is definitely the best. He's always doing sweet things for me.

Hope you love my Black Widow painting tomorrow! I always get nervous right before I post them. lol!

I've been posting one art post a month so far. My Black Widow painting goes live tomorrow. Before that I had 2 paintings from The Notebook, and 2 paintings from Game of Thrones (Jon Snow & Daenerys). That's it so far! I think next month might be Wolverine!
