My Bookish Art: Iron Man/Tony Stark

Friday, June 16, 2017

I've been sharing my artwork on my blog for a couple months now, and I'm really glad I started to.  I was a little unsure about sharing it at first because this is primarily a bookish blog, so I decided to share my book inspired artwork to sort of tie it in.  Eventually I would love to start an Etsy/Society 6 site but I haven't gotten around to it yet.  I'm still nervous to take that first step.  This is the 4th painting of mine that I've shared so far on my blog.  So far I've shared: Daenerys and Jon SnowThe Notebook, and Black Widow. I've said it before, but I'm a HUGE comic book nerd so I've done quite a few other portraits of comic characters including: Wolverine, Hulk, Groot & Rocket (from Guardians of the Galaxy),  Catwoman, and Nancy Callahan (Sin City).  I was originally going to share Wolverine this week but someone requested Iron Man/Tony Stark first. lol!  I will post Wolverine next time!

(some progress shots because I think they are fun to share. lol)

    1. Thank you so much <3 I realized recently that I don't really share too much about myself, aside from the little "Life Lately" section on my Saturday posts, so I thought this would be a fun way to show another part of myself.

  6. Your painting is marvelous. I grew up on Captain Marvel, Superman, etc. but rarely even think of comics these days.

  10. Hi there Julie, you are really gifted! I enjoyed the first Iron Man movie and you've got that 'Iron Man' persona of Tony Starke to a 'T', well done. Looking forward to Wolverine :D)

    1. Thank you so much! I loved most of the Iron Man films too. There was one towards the end that I didn't absolutely love, but I think Robert Downey Jr is the perfect Tony Stark. I love him in that character.

  13. Excellent work as always Julie! I love it!

And thanks for sharing the progress shots - they are so great to see!

I can't wait to see Wolverine next. I'm trying to think of who I'd love to see... Not so much a comic but maybe a Beauty and the Beast interpretation??? Maybe? If it's your thing?

I hope you'll start your store sometime soon! Take the plunge!

    1. Thank you so much, Di!

I think seeing progress shots makes it more fun. lol! I always like to see it slowly coming together

I should definitely do a Beauty and the Beast painting! That's a great idea! I will have to think on that for a while.

I have really been dragging my feet with the store... I just need to to double check copyright laws again since a lot of my paintings are from movies or other images.
