My Bookish Art: Wolverine

Friday, July 21, 2017

I've been sharing my artwork on my blog for a couple months now, and I'm really glad I started to.  I was a little unsure about sharing it at first because this is primarily a bookish blog, so I decided to share my book inspired artwork to sort of tie it in.  I STILL haven't made the big jump and started an Etsy/Society 6 site but I'm starting to build up some courage now.  I'm just nervous to take that first step, I think.  This is the 5th painting of mine that I've shared so far on my blog.  So far I've shared: Daenerys and Jon SnowThe NotebookBlack Widow, and Iron Man. I've said it before, but I'm a HUGE comic book nerd so I've done quite a few other portraits of comic characters including: Hulk, Groot & Rocket (from Guardians of the Galaxy),  Catwoman, and Nancy Callahan (Sin City).  Right now, I just finished working on an acrylic painting of Wonder Woman.  I went with a bigger canvas than I normally do so it took me a little longer than I thought it would, but it's done now so I will be showing you that one next month.

(some progress shots because I think they are fun to share. lol)

What do you think?

Next month I'll be sharing my Wonder Woman painting I just finished.  If you can't wait, I posted it on Instagram, along with some progress photos if you want to check that out.

  1. This reminds me how far behind I am with the X Men films! I think I've only seen the first three and it was so long ago that I don't remember what happened in them. Nice work!

    1. Thank you so much! I'm really excited with the way my Wonder Woman came out too. I did that one in acrylic and it was pretty large so it took longer than this one.

    1. haha I'm the same way. I get really caught up with what I'm doing and completely forget about progress shots. I've started to take photos as sort of a tool to "help me step back" so I can see areas I need to work on too.

Thank you so much! Hope you have a great week!

    1. Thank you so much! I haven't seen the newest movie, Logan, yet. That's mostly because I'm not really for it to end. lol! I have to mentally prepare myself for it because Wolverine is my all time favorite.
