Life lately:
How is it already July?!  Geez,  time needs to slow down a little bit.  I can't believe the year is half over already!  I'm definitely not ready for summer to be half over either. lol!  I feel like this has been a really rainy season.

Sooo last week I got my daith piercing to help with my migraines, and guess what?!  I haven't had one all week!  It could be a coincidence but I'm holding out hope.  I've had an achy head quite a few days this week but it hasn't turned into a full on migraine yet.  I haven't been sleeping right and the kiddo has been stressing me out so I'll blame the achy head on those things.  Our 4 year old has been acting out lately and driving my husband and I a little nuts.  She's normally really well behaved and listens well, but lately she's like a different kid.  Everyone keeps telling me it's probably just a weird phase...man, I hope so.  We've tried talking to her calmly, yelling, time outs, and taking all her toys and tv time away.  My mom says she thinks she is just testing her boundaries. Hopefully this is a short phase.

Book-wise I am struggling to keep up.  I have a lot of reviews planned for July but I'm not sure if I will get to them all or not.  Normally by now I have the whole next week planned but I'm still working on it.  We'll see how it goes!  I also tried really hard not to add any more books to my shelves this week.  I ended up getting 2 ARCs as part of blog tours that I requested a while ago, so I'm pretty proud of myself for sticking to my "book freeze" for the week. lol  I'm probably going to be adding more to my shelves next week tho because my hubby got my an Amazon gift card. LOL

  1. That sounds hopeful! If this new thing can even dull down the worst of the pain, that's great! Oh dear, THAT is one of the many reasons why I never wanted kids! I have no patience for bad behaviour! I think I really need a book buy ban other than the few I've pre-ordered but I know how well book bans work on me!

    1. Yeah, so far so good with the piercing. I haven't been back to the chiropractor or massage therapist yet. Then never told me when to come back. lol!

I grew up saying I never wanted kids and then things changed when I married my husband. lol. We are stopping at one tho. Having a kid is amazing but there's definitely days when I would love to escape on a solitary getaway for a while. hahaha!

Yeah, book bans never work well for me either. lol! I'm probably just kidding myself with the book freeze. I'm trying to only request books that I REALLY want to read. But they all sound so good! lol

  2. You are the second person in 2 days to mention getting a daith piercing. I'm going to need to look into that. I get migraines, too, and I'm really curious about it.

    1. It wasn't too bad at all. I expected it to hurt really bad because of where it's at but I didn't think it hurt. There was just a lot of pressure. If you do decide to get it done, I hope it works for you. Migraines are horrible.

  3. I agree! Time needs to slow down. Everything is going by too fast. I'm crossing all my fingers that the piercing is why you didn't have migraines this week! I really hope that's why.
Ah sorry to hear about your daughter. Kids can be so weird and moody. I wonder if maybe she has teeth growing or something? I know my mom used to say we were insufferable when our teeth were growing, and I can attest to that because I still have teeth coming out, and I'm a bitch when it does lol.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy your new books this week! Happy reading and take care! :)

    1. Thank you so much, Nick! I really hope it's helping. It actually pouring rain outside right now and storms seem to be one of my triggers, and so far so good. So I will keep my fingers crossed.

haha I'm not really sure what is going on with her. I think she just goes through weird phases sometimes and wants to push her boundaries a little. Hopefully she snaps out of it soon.

Thanks so much again. I hope you have a great week too!

    1. I've never read anything from Roan Parrish before so I'm really excited about that one. And thanks but I think I jinxed myself. I ended up with a migraine today. I have the medicine in my system now so hopefully it's one that I'll be able to sleep off tonight.

Hope you have a great week too!

I'm glad your migraines are better so far. Fingers crossed it keeps up.

  7. I hope the piercing works for you! I have friends who swear by it!

I am so behind on my reviews already. Usually I am at least a couple books ahead. Now, I am finishing the book the night before the review is due! Its killing me!

Have a great week! Hope your child returns to normal soon :)

    1. I went a week without one and that's better than I've been doing so I guess that's good. I think I jinxed myself tho by mentioning it because I ended up with one today. lol! I have the pain medicine in my system now and I'm going to try to sleep it off as soon as I get my kiddo in bed

I feel like I'm really behind on reading too. I have really fallen behind. I'm set for next week but I wanted to get a few more books read.

Hope you have a great week too! The kiddo is currently sitting in time out right now so I don't think we are headed towards normal yet. lol

  8. It's been a hit or miss summer around here too- some hot days but some cooler and rainy too. And hopefully the piercing works! The body's funny isn't it? You never know what or why something might help, but if it does, more power to it lol.

Hope you have a good reading week, and happy 4th!!

    1. I'm really hoping the piercing works. I need something to work. This has been so frustrating.

  9. I'm glad you didn't have a full blown migraine this week. I hope the piercing is the reason and it keeps up! I'm pretty behind on scheduling for my blog too. I have some reviews written; I just need to schedule them. I also have a lot of books I read this past week that I still need to review though!

    1. Thanks so much! I ended up get a bit of a migraine Saturday but I caught it early enough that it didn't ruin the weekend. I did go a whole week without one tho, so I'm still keeping my fingers crossed. I'm hoping to get caught up a little bit in the next couple weeks with blogging/reading but we'll see how that goes. Hope you have a great week!

I am trying to get a little ahead with blogging in the next couple weeks because I have a vacation coming up and I know I won't be doing too much blogging/reading and I don't want to fall behind again.

  11. I know exactly what you mean, this year is going way too fast. It's crazy, really. At this rate it'll be the end of the year in no time.

Glad to hear the daith piercing seems to be working so far. I'm kind of interested in getting one, did it hurt?

Enjoy your Amazon gift card, hope you get lots of good books and fingers crossed this week goes well.

    1. Time definitely needs to slow down. Even just a little bit!

I didn't think that the daith piercing hurt too much. I went in there expecting the worst and it just felt like a lot of pressure to me and then it was over. Super quick!

I just used my Amazon gift card so I'm really excited to be getting books in the mail soon.

    1. Thanks so much! It's definitely been nice to get up and do things. We went for a nice 3 mile walk yesterday and I loved it. My kiddo was really good yesterday so I'm hoping she has straitened herself out. lol. Time needs to slow down!!

  13. Yay for no headaches! I really hope the daith turns out to be exactly what you needed and that it isn't just a coincidence. I'm sorry to hear that your 4 year old is acting up. Your mom's probably right, that she's just testing her boundaries, but it's still no fun for the parents.

    1. I really hope so too! So far so good. I had a migraine on Saturday but managed to stop it before it got too bad. The whole week without them was definitely nice tho. That's the longest I have went in a month.

  16. Argh. I'm so far behind and it's JULY! What even???

I'm so pleased to hear about hte daith piercing! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will continue to be so successful!

Julie!!! 2 and 3 are supposed to be the tough years! I'm not sure I'll be able to cope if 4 is so challenging too!!! How come no one mentions these things before you become a parent? Or did I just never listen?

Oh, well done on the book freeze and your restraint! I'm too scared to go on NG at the moment!!! :)

Hope you have had a great week! I'm so far behind that I'm trying to catch up madly again! When will I get my blogging nose in front? Maybe that's just not how I operate. :)

    1. hahaha!! Agreed! Time needs to slow down...and I feel like I'm always trying to play catch up blog-wise. lol!

So far so good with the daith piercing. I really hope it stays that way. It's been nice not being in so much pain.

I think she is just going in and out of some weird phases. She's been really good the past couple days (I really hope I didn't just jinx myself!!) I swear people only tell you about the "magical" moments when telling you about having kids. lol! Love my daughter like crazy but it definitely isn't all sunshine and rainbows all the time. haha

I tried to be good again this week with the book freeze but I had an Amazon gift card burning a hole in my pocket so I bought a few new books. lol

Hope you are having a great week too! I think I'm just perpetually catching up. lol! I never seem to get too far ahead..and if I do I still don't feel like I'm ahead enough. haha
