Life Lately:
Look at that you guys!!!  STILL no more books for review!  Just in case you are new around here, I've been saying that I am on a "book requesting" freeze until I catch up with some of the books I already have.  I haven't requested any books this month so far!  It's so hard to say no to all of the great looking books out there.  I still look on NetGalley at all of the new books (because I'm a glutton for punishment, apparently) but so far my self control has been strong....but I feel it weakening. haha!

I finished my Wonder Woman painting!  I'm going to be sharing it on my blog next month but if you want to see it now, I shared pictures of it on my Instagram.  I just shared my Wolverine painting yesterday.  I am really glad I decided to start sharing my art on here.  It's really helped motivate me to create more.  I've been debating on a couple new ideas for a new painting: Beauty and the Beast, Harley Quinn, Joker, or Pride & Prejudice.  What do you think??

I'm not going to be around for next week's Stacking the Shelves/Sunday Post because I'm going to be on the beach!!  We are leaving Thursday morning and coming back Sunday afternoon.  Just a quick little getaway but I'm super excited.  I love the beach!  And a lot of my family live out that way so we are going to meet up for a family reunion on Saturday.

    1. Thank you so much! I'm debating adding some sort of background to the Wonder Woman painting but I haven't decided if I want to or what I would add if I did. haha I really want to paint Harley Quinn one of these days. She would be fun!

  11. I took like a two year break from Netgalley and Edelweiss so I completely understand. I wasn't blogging quite as much during that time but really I just didn't want the stress. I loved This is How it Happened so congrats on that giveaway win! Have fun at the beach! :)

    1. Oh wow!! I'm not sure if I can hold out that long, but I really need to for a while longer. I have some great books that I want to get too before I start getting more ARCs. I completely get what you mean about the stress. I stress myself out about my NG ratio and getting the review written before pub dates. Ugghh...it's too much sometimes. So glad to hear that you enjoyed This Is How It Happened! I hadn't even heard of it until seeing it on Nick & Nereyda's blog, but it sounds REALLY good so I'm excited. Thanks so much!

    1. Thanks, Alyssa! It's hard to say no to all the new books. I should stay off of NetGalley all together but I torture myself by looking at them all. haha! I really enjoy Kate Meader's books too. She knows how to write a good steamy romance. I'm super excited about some beach time.

Hope you have a great week too!

  14. WOW... I'm suitably impressed! STILL NO NEW BOOKS??

I'm still trying not to get anything new for a while but things keep creeping through the gaps! But once I've finally caught up my ARCs I should hit my 50 review mark on NG and be somewhere decent on my #letsreadindie challenge too, so there's that!

Oh gosh - you need to do Beauty and the Beast please! And Pride and Prejudice!! Which version do you see of Pride and Prejudice y the way???

The beach sounds amazing but we'll miss you next weekend! Have an awesome week and yay for family reunions!

    1. haha! Still no books! I'm still trying really hard to catch up and get more books I already own out of the way.

hahaha! I have so many ideas for paintings but picking which one to start with is so hard! I own the Pride & Prejudice movie that has Kiera Knightley so I was probably going to go with that one. lol! I watch it like once a month! I love the comic theme that I've had going for a while now, and the Joker or Harley seem like they'd be really fun. I'm a huge Disney nerd too so I feel like I want to do Beauty and the Beast one day soon too. lol!

Aww thanks! I'm really excited for some beach time. I hope we get some sunshine while we're out there. It's been such a rainy summer.

    1. Thank you so much! I'm really happy with the way Wonder Woman turned out. I'm still debating on adding some kind of cool background to it...for now I will leave the orange/peach color lol.

I am guilty of grabbing a lot of freebies and then completely forgetting about them. I'm horrible. I need to read more of the books I already own, for sure

  16. Good for you for keeping up with the book freeze! I feel like those kind of things are always hard, especially when there's just always so many great new ones coming out. Anyhow, This is How It Happened looks good! I've been wanting to buy that one so I'll be curious to see what you have to say. Have fun on your beach trip!!! :) I just got back from Point Pleasant, NJ, and it was wonderful. Just what the doctor ordered lol

  17. Twisted looks awesome, so I'll have to check that out. I'm also going to make sure I find your art on Instagram. I love Wolverine and Wonder Woman! :D Kudos to you for refraining from requesting books. I've been holding off quite a bit too except for ones I really, really want to read. Enjoy the beach next week and thanks for stopping by!
