Life Lately:
I finally started a new painting!  I decided to go with Beauty and the Beast this time around because that seemed like it had the popular vote.  I posted a progress photo on Instagram if you feel like check it out.  I don't think Belle ended up looking like Emma Watson but I'm still happy with it so far.  I've got a long way to go on it though.  I'm so happy to be painting again.

This week flew by so fast that I didn't even get a chance to grab too many books.  I'm still trying to hold off on requesting too many ARCs.  I'm working my way through my backlist.  It's so great to finally be able to check some of these books off my list.

I am headed to the Renaissance festival with one of my best friends, my husband, and daughter.  We go every year.  It's so much fun!

    1. The festival was so much fun yesterday. We got rained out towards the middle/end of the event but our kiddo was getting tired anyway so it worked out.

Thank you so much! I am hoping to get to work on my Beauty and the Beast painting more today.

Alex, Approximately is super cute so far. I'm really enjoying it.

Thanks, Amy! Hope you are having a great weekend!

  11. Your Beauty and Beast is so good! I actually like that Belle is a bit different - it's Emma and it isn't, know what I mean? So beautiful, don't touch her!!! :)

I saw you got rained out on the fair but yeah, with little kiddos, it's best to leave before it goes downhill, right?? Have a great week!!!

    1. hahaha okay, I won't! I actually ended up really liking the way Belle came out too. Normally I get upset when my portraits don't end up looking like the person I'm trying to capture but I actually kind of like that it didn't this time. I painting a little more last night but I think I was having an "off" night so I tapped out early. lol! I'm going to try to work on it more today

And yes, definitely better to leave before the kiddo gets overtired and turns into a little rage monster. lol! Thanks Kristin! Hope you have a great week too!

  19. Yay for painting! I thought the progress pic was beautiful and I can't wait to see more.

Glad that you're managing with your book freeze still. I was also REALLY good last week! Prepping and posting the State of the Arc post that I did really helped motivate me to continue on my path even though I'm down to very few ARCs remaining now! I think it gets harder to resist when your pile is low!

Renaissance festival!!!!!!!!!!!!! That sounds like so much fun and I haven't been to one since I was a kid.

I mayyyy have broken my book freeze this past week. lol! Oops! I only got a few but I probably shouldn't have. ARCs have been getting harder and harder to resist!

The Ren Fest was a lot fun. Paige got to pet the knight's horses and met some fairies so she was happy. lol

Thanks, Di! Hope you had a great week too!

  20. Your painting is amazing! I am in awe. I have always wanted to go to a Renaissance festival. When I was a kid, they always advertised one that was somewhere in NY state, but sadly, I never went. The closest I got was a dinner in a castle in Ireland. We drank honey mead (ewww) and had lutes playing and what not.
