12 Series I've Been Meaning To Start But Haven't...Yet!

Tuesday, June 20, 2017

I am linking up today at The Broke and the Bookish's link up "Top Ten Tuesday".  They have a different topic every week and it's a lot of fun to meet some new bloggers and find a bunch of new books to add to my list!  This week's topic is: 10 Series I've Been Meaning To Start But Haven't.

Oops...so, I actually gave you 12 series that I want to read instead of stopping at 10.  I probably could have kept going on forever. lol!  I got carried away.  Do duologies count as series??  Oh well, I counted them. lol!  Making this list reminded me that I have so many series that I started and haven't finished yet.  I will have to make a list post of those ones soon!

A Court of Thorns and Roses series

  1. I loved The Hunger Games! I so much want to do a re-read of that. I plan to read Six of Crows maybe next month but I didn't like Shadow and Bone. I do like the covers on the Sarah J Maas books.

    1. I've heard so many great things about The Hunger Games, and I've made sure that I didn't watch the movies because I want to read the books first. lol! Sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy Shadow and Bone. I just recently bought Six of Crows so I'm really excited to check that out.

    1. Everyone has been telling me for a long time now that I really need to read The Hunger games, and I refuse to watch the movies until I've read the books. It's one of my goals this year to finally read it. Hope we both love Six of Crows!

  4. Red Queen - I need to try Kings Cage. I enjoyed book 1, book 2 was underwhelming but I believe book 3 is redeeming. It's a Quartet though by the way, so there's one more book to come.

Throne of Glass - YES! The last book is publishing next year.
ACOTAR - YES! The series is complete.
The Grisha I just started (finally!)

The Selection - I'd be interested to see what you think!

    The Hunger Games???? You haven't?

    Illuminae... I haven't either.. I need to.

Stiefvater - Also haven't. Again, I need to!

Rebel of the Sands I loved the first book. I'm yet to review it but need to and I'm desperate for Traitor!

Six of Crows - ABSOLUTELY. Although please read the Grisha first!

Blackhearts - I need! And Ravenspire is also on my TBR! :)

    I love your list!

    1. I didn't realize there were going to be 4 books in the Red Queen series, thanks for the heads up!

If I start reading ToG in the next few months, maybe by the time I get through them all the last one will be out! lol I hate waiting! lol

I own all of the books in the ACOTAR series now so I plan on starting that one as soon as I work my way through The Lunar Chronicles.

The Grisha sounds SO good! Glad to hear that you got to start it!

I'm probably the only person that hasn't read The Hunger Games yet. I've avoided the movies and spoilers until I get through the books too. lol!

I've heard awesome things about Illuminae! Everyone seems to love it. I'm not sure if it sounds like my kind of thing but I'll give it a shot.

Rebel of the Sands sounds sooo goood! lol

Oh, I didn't know that I should read Grisha first. Thanks for another heads up! lol

Blackhearts I need because, PIRATES! lol

      Thanks so much, Di!

    1. I've seen a lot of mixed reviews for Red Queen. Some people really loved it and others not so much. I'm curious about the Selection series. At fist it sounded like something that I wouldn't care for but so many people seem to love it

  6. I've been wanting to read Blackhearts. That sounds fun.

I have the whole ACOTAR series now but I haven't started it yet. I've been trying to fight my way through my giant pile of ARCs first lol!

  7. We do have similar lists!! Hopefully, we get to reading them soon :) I have read The Hunger Games trilogy and enjoyed them and I started A Court of Thorns and Roses, but only read the first book :/ I really liked it though! I have to add the Red Queen series to my list; they seem interesting! Anyways, love your list :)

  8. I think duologies totally count. :) And The Hunger Games is probably on my list too- or should have been. Since I've never read them but just watched the last movie- and now I kind of want to read them?

The Illuminae books are awesome. And I want to read Six of Crows too...

    1. haha, thanks! I think duologies totally count too! lol So glad I'm not the only one that hasn't read them yet! Any time I say I haven't people can't believe it. lol! I avoided them because of the hype. I've heard a lot of great things about Illuminae. I'm not sure if it sounds like my type of story but I want to give it a try.

  9. Wasn't a fan of the love octagons in the SJM series, gave up on those.
The Illuminae series is really fan, especially on audiobook if you like those :)

    1. I'm a little nervous about the love triangles/octogons in SJM. You know me, I'm not a big fan of the triangles, but I'm still really intrigued...we'll see how it goes, I guess. lol I STILL haven't tried audiobooks...I really need to

  10. OOH, definitely recommend the Grisha trilogy, Six of Crows and Hunger Games! I love SJM books as well. And Illuminae was great as well, but I still need to continue the series. Hope you'll get to all of these some day soon :)

  11. I do love The Hunger Games series, and I don't really go for dystopia that often. I've read Illuminae and Gemina and those are great. I read Shiver and Linger SUCH a long time ago, so I really want to re-read those and then finish that series.

    1. I'm not a huge dystopia fan either, which is one of the big reasons I never got around to this one...and all of the hype. lol! I'm too curious not to read it tho.

  12. Duologues totally count!! Don't feel bad about The Hunger Games-- I didn't read them until like 2 years ago. They are good though-- if you've seen the movies, it's almost like reading a script-- that's how close it follows it.

    1. haha, I think duologies count too! So glad that I'm not the only one that was a little slower to read The Hunger Games. lol! I feel left out. I have been refusing to even watch the movies until I read them

  13. The ones of these I've read, The Hunger Games, Throne of Glass, ACOTAR and Rebel of The Sands, I've really enjoyed. I read the first Red Queen and it was okay but nothing to rave about. Most of the rest of your list is on my TBR.

  14. I have either read most of these or also have them on my list to read. I personally love the Grisha and Six of Crows series. Leigh Bardugo is amazing. I enjoyed Illuminae as well. I've heard good things about Rebel of the Sands and the Wolves of Mercy Falls, but I haven't read them yet. Of course, I've read Hunger Games... forever ago. :)

    1. haha I'm a little late to the party with Hunger Games. I think I just avoided it for so long because of the hype but my curiosity has gotten the best of me. lol I've heard so many great things about Leigh Bardugo that I can't wait to read something from her.

  15. I really loved Hunger Games and didn't think of it as dystopian. It reminded me of the depression era almost! You have several on your list that I'd like to read, too. I actually prefer finished series so I don't have to wait for another book to be released.
