My Bookish Art: Wonder Woman

Friday, August 18, 2017

Just in case you are new here: I've been sharing my artwork on my blog for a couple months now.  I was a little unsure about sharing it at first because this is primarily a bookish blog, so I decided to share my book inspired artwork to sort of tie it in.  I've got plans to eventually start an Etsy/Society 6 site but I haven't made the jump yet.  I'm just nervous to take that first step, I think.  This is the 6th painting of mine that I've shared so far on my blog.  I've included the links to the others below my newest painting. Right now, I'm trying to decide what painting I want to try next.  I just need to find the time and motivation. lol

I'm actually not too sure if I'm completely done with this one or not. lol!  I feel like I want to go back and add more highlights/lowlights in her hair, and maybe some more on her face too.  I also think I want to eventually add a really epic background behind her.  But for now, this is my acrylic painting of Wonder Woman.

(some progress shots because I think they are fun to share. lol)

    1. Thank you so much!! I keep going back and forth between Etsy and Society 6...and then I get overwhelmed and end up not doing anything about it. I think I just need to finally do it.

  15. Awesome Wonder woman!! And I love how it looks like Gal Gadot too. She's such a fabulous WW. I agree- you should set up your Etsy or Society 6 shop. I think people would buy these. I hope you're sharing them on Instagram too so people see em?

    1. Thanks so much, Greg! Gal Gadot did such a fantastic job as Wonder Woman. I was never a huge fan of WW but I LOVED the movie. I can't wait to see the next one. I have been sharing them on Instagram too. People have been so supportive <3 I definitely want to try to open a shop but I have no idea how about marketing and shipping. It seems overwhelming but I've been doing some research so we'll see about opening shop in a few months or so.

  18. Wow! It's amazing! I honestly really love acrylic painting and I also enjoy doing it myself. I had to do a self-portrait for a class at the beginning of this year and it turned out to be pretty good. But maybe I should also try out doing fictional characters like you do. Your art is always so inspiring!

    1. Thank you so much!! You are so sweet! Definitely try doing some fictional characters. It's a lot of fun...and less pressure if you don't get it quite right. haha! I love acrylic because it dries so fast. I'm not patient enough for oils, but I love them when other people do them

    1. Thanks so much! I am definitely going to go back in and put a few more highlights and lowlights in her hair but I'm still unsure about the background. I don't want a busy background that takes away from her, ya know?
