Title: Dirty Deeds
Author: HelenKay Dimon
Genre: MM Romance, Suspense
Publisher: Loveswept

No dirty deed goes unnoticed in a seductive game of cat and mouse. But for Alec and Gaige, the wrong move could get them killed.

Alec Drummond didn’t make his billions by playing nice—or by playing much at all. When it comes to pleasure, Alec only has time for whatever’s quick and easy, which is exactly what he gets from his company’s hot new computer genius. But Gaige Owens isn’t some pushover. He pushes back, and it’s giving Alec a rush. The question is, could Gaige be the one who’s leaking trade secrets? Just to be safe, Alec keeps him close at hand . . . night and day.

Gaige never thought he’d roll over for a man like Alec again, but who could resist sex this mind-blowing? Then there’s the draw of Alec’s mysterious side: his cutthroat ambition, his covert CIA connections, and the murder in his past. For Gaige, a deeper look proves an irresistible temptation. But when Gaige and Alec are stripped of their defenses by an unseen danger, everything they don’t know could bring them closer together—or tear them apart. Only one thing is certain: Before it’s all over, someone’s going down.

Dirty Deeds can be read as a standalone, but is actually a spin-off from the Tough Love series.  If you've read the Tough Love series, Alec is Rick Fine's ex from book #2, Guarding Mr. Fine.  We don't see Rick in this book but we see his boyfriend Seth.

Alec is a billionaire who runs a food based company with his brothers. He catches Gaige hacking into his computers, only to find out he was being forced to do this by Seth who wanted a meeting with him. Seth believes there is a leak within Alec's company and thinks there is something strange going on at one of the seed vaults. Seth sort of blackmails both Alec and Gaige into finding out what is going on. Seth also has Gaige investigating Alec & his company, without Alec's knowledge. Alec doesn't make any secret about the fact that he doesn't trust Gaige so he decides he is going to keep a close eye on him.  Since they are spending so much time with one another they eventually decide to give in to the attraction, but only with no strings attached.  As they spend more time together they start to open up to each other and care about each other.

I felt like this one took a while to really get started.  The whole first half was a little bit slow.  There wasn't too much action or suspense until the second half of the book and a little bit towards the end.  I thought there was going to be much more throughout the story.  The mystery aspect wasn't super obvious though which was nice.  I can usually guess what's going to happen but I was only able to guess part of it.  I like being able to be surprised.

I really liked that Gaige wasn't the typical nerdy computer hacker type.  He was not intimated easily and could take care of himself when he needed to.  He has a vulnerable side because of a past relationship gone bad, and now has a lot of trouble trusting anyone.  Alec has a lot of trouble trusting Gaige, which is understandable considering the first time he meets Gaige, he is breaking into his building.  The chemistry between them was sizzling.  They both decide to give in to their mutual attraction even though they don't trust each other at all, but as they learn to trust each other more they have some great sweet little moments together.  I loved watching the "walls" come down between them.

I still enjoyed this one a lot, but not quite as much as The Talented Mr. Rivers or Guarding Mr. Fine.  It's technically not the same series (since this is a spin off) but those ones are my favorite so far.  I do have to say that even tho I really like Seth's character in Guarding Mr. Fine, I couldn't stand him at all in this one.  He was really manipulative and pretty much a giant jerk the whole time.  That being said, I will still be keeping my eye out for more of HelenKay Dimon's books.  Maybe we'll get Alec's brother's story??  That could just be wishful thinking tho. haha!
