Life lately:
It's been another pretty busy week for me again.  My husband and I did some PreK school clothes and bookbag shopping for our daughter, there was a food festival, and my husband has got some sort of stomach funk that's been going around.  I also did an insane amount of laundry.  Seriously, where did it all come from?!

Anyway,  I feel like I got a decent amount of reading done this week but there were a lot of underwhelming reads.  I'm hoping my next reads will be a little better.  I'm still holding strong with my "book requesting freeze" streak.  I've decided to start including what books I've gotten from my Kindle Unlimited subscription on Amazon too.  I've actually got 10 books from KU right now but they've all been waiting a while.  I will start including them as I get them now tho.

I also wanted to give a huge thank you to everyone that voted on my survey last week.  I included it in this post too since there are still a few more days left to vote.  I'm super excited to start picking up some of these books.

Recently on my blog:
Illegal Contact by Santino Hassell - Review
Making It by Christine d'Abo - Review
Waiting on Wednesday- Rank & File by L.A. Witt
A Fashionable Indulgence by K.J. Charles - Review
My Artwork: Wonder Woman

Coming up next on my blog:
Series Review: The Turner series by Cat Sebastian
Mask of Shadows by Linsey Miller - Review
Waiting on Wednesday
Trust with a Chaser by Annabeth Albert - Review
#Blur by Cambria Hebert - Mini Review

I posted this survey last week too, but there are a couple more days left to vote so I figured I would share it one more time!  Can't wait to see what everyone chooses!

What should I read in September?

    1. I've heard really good things about it too. It sounds really good. The cover makes it look like a great summer read too, and I'm not ready to give up summer quite yet so that's perfect. lol. I hope Healed by Love is still free for you. It sounds good and I've enjoyed the Melissa Foster books I've read before. Thanks, hope you have a great weekend!

  5. Sounds like a really mixed week. A food festival sounds fun, though! Although to be honest, anything with food gets me interested, lol ;)

It's awesome you got a lot of reading done, but I'm sorry most of the books were disappointing. That's always annoying :(

Hope you have a lovely week ahead, Julie!

  6. I can never find good books to read on Amazon Unlimited so I ended up just cancelling my subscription. We've accumulated a lot of laundry over here as well and I just have my boyfriend and I. Wonder why!

It's weird because she loves learning and being around other kids. We'll just have to see how it goes. Hope you have a great week too, and happy reading!

  17. Oh no, time for Pre-K? My mom never liked sending each of us to Pre-K because that was the start of "school" for us, at age four... we were still practically babies!

I know basically no one has voted for Heartstone but I REALLY hope you read it at some point! It is a favorite of mine! Also it is no longer a standalone, idk if that changes things for you. The second and third book were announced very recently! I think they are shooting for 2019 and 2020 publication dates.

I hope you enjoy all of your new books! Have a fabulous week, Julie. =)

    1. hahaha Yeah, I'm still not sure how I feel about it. On one hand I want to cry because she's getting so big, but on the other I'm pretty excited because it gets her out with other kids and gives me some alone time to get things done! lol I will probably spend the whole time crying! haha

I've heard nothing but great things about Heartstone. I'm definitely going to have to work it into October's reading schedule. I'm too curious about it to wait any longer than that! haha

Thanks Alyssa! I hope you have a great week too, and happy reading!

  18. Good for you making use of kindle unlimited. I am trying it out again, since there have been a couple of series I want to get through and they are all on KU. Even some older books that have been on my list for ages are on KU, so I am curious to see what books I can find. Hope you enjoy those two that you grabbed up.

    Happy Reading.

  21. School prep is daunting even when it's PreK. i hope you got everything sorted. Sorry to hear that despite reading lots you didn't get lots of good reads like you'd hoped. It's frustrating when that happens, i start to lost some of my reading motivation. I hope your next book will be a good one.

    1. Thanks so much, Becky! I did start to lose some of my reading motivation for a while. I've been running behnd with my reading because of it. Blahhh...BUT hopefully, with some of these new books that everyone picked for me in the survey, I will be turning that around soon.

Hope you have a great week, and happy reading!

    1. My daughter is starting to get nervous now, I think. She keeps saying she doesn't want to go. Just last week she couldn't wait! There's a family event tonight for PreK so I'm hoping it changes her mind and she loosens up a bit.

The book freeze has been really hard. I've been seeing so many great books but I'm determined to get through the books I already own. Thanks, Carole! Hope you have a great week too!
